Core Aeration & Seed is critical for your lawn and saves you water

unnamed

Summer is quickly winding down, which means its time to start thinking about Fall Aeration & Overseeding now. We've included below information on the benefits of core aeration and overseeding your lawn. Now is the time to schedule, as we will be performing Fall Aerations and Overseeds beginning in early September (depending on temperatures).

Why Core Aeration & Seeding?

Of all the things that build a healthy, thick lawn, Core Aeration & Seeding is second only to lawn fertilizing. Core Aeration reduces thatch in your lawn while it opens the way for air, water and fertilizer to reach the root zone of your grass. Seeding at this time provides for the best seed to soil contact and weather conditions. Core Aeration & Seeding is the secret to getting the most out of your other lawn care services.

Core Aeration removes thousands of plugs of soil from your lawn and deposits them above the thatch. As the plugs begin to “melt” back into the lawn, the soil mixes with the thatch and speeds up the natural process of decomposition. Performing Core Aeration each autumn helps ensure that thatch seldom becomes a serious and expensive problem.

And, don’t worry about the little soil plugs left behind after core aeration. They’ll get chopped up after a couple of regular mowings and return valuable nutrients and organic matter to your lawn.

Does your lawn have brown patches?

If your lawn has been damaged from the destruction of insects, we suggest that you continue with fertilization and weed control treatments from us and add our core aeration service with overseeding.  Core aeration also helps relieve soil compaction, allowing grass roots to spread out and grow stronger for a fuller, healthier lawn.

What are the benefits of Core Aeration & Overseeding?

  • Allows you to use less water to get the same results. SAVE WATER!
  • Increases water, nutrient and oxygen movement into the soil
  • Improves root strength, depth, and efficiency
  • Helps your lawn fight diseases, fungus, and stress
  • Helps prevent fertilizer run-off into our waterways
  • Increases the activity of soil microorganisms that decompose thatch
  • Overseeding Fills in bare spots
